Nearly 300 images bring together visual jokes, slogans, rebuses and recurring street characters, revealing the variety of marks encountered while walking through the city. Close framing draws attention to small interventions, weathered surfaces and the unexpected relationships between neighbouring images.

Selected from photographs gathered over years of walks, the book includes work by Miss.Tic, Némo, Jérôme Mesnager, Speedy Graphito, Jean Faucheur, Chanoir, L’Atlas and Space Invader, alongside unidentified artists. Caroline Pauchant’s layout creates associations between the photographs, allowing shapes, gestures and ideas to echo across the pages. An accompanying reference section identifies artists, locations and dates where known, grounding this lively visual record in the streets where the works appeared.
