This question is explored through an analysis of how graffiti writers use social media to maintain a collective memory. The participants are graffiti writers who are no longer young. Online, they share and discuss stories and photographs from their youth, reflecting on how graffiti has shaped their lives. In this process, they intertwine their individual memories to form a collective memory and develop arguments that present graffiti as a valuable cultural heritage worthy of preservation. This thesis provides cultural and sociological insights into how digital memory work can contribute to maintaining group cohesion over time.
