Shadows — Axel Corjon
February 26 – March 14, 2026
On the occasion of the release of his new book Shadows, Axel Corjon presents a selection of photographs taken during long, instinctive walks through Seoul.
Shadows is a black-and-white street photography project shaped by drifting rather than destination. Seoul unfolds as a city of contrasts: vast avenues vibrating with movement, suddenly giving way to narrow alleys where time seems suspended. Moving through this urban labyrinth with hip-hop in his headphones, Corjon isolates himself from the noise of the city to tune into its visual rhythm—light, geometry, fleeting presences.
These images are not documents but distillations. Reflections, sharp angles of light, and passing silhouettes become compositional elements in a living score. Guided by a background in graphic design, street art, and typography, Corjon treats the city as a constantly shifting layout—where light speaks louder than form, and shadow becomes the silence between things.
Figures appear without posing, crossing the frame unaware, hovering between visibility and disappearance like echoes. Nothing is forced. Moments are not chased, but awaited. In that fragile space where attention meets chance, the city sometimes gives something back.
The exhibition brings together photographs from Shadows, extending the book’s quiet, immersive experience into the space of the bookshop—an invitation to slow down, wander, and look again.
