Bologna Bastarda is the first editorial project of Anonima Amici, a newly born collective from Bologna, and it does one thing only: document the illegal graffiti painted in the city's metropolitan area.
Compared to other Italian cities Bologna is a small town. Once a new wall is painted it is only a matter of time before it gets noticed, by locals or by tourists, and over the years the city has seen a constant turnover of styles. An increasingly harsh and systematic buff program now means that pieces survive in the streets for shorter and shorter periods, which is exactly why this zine exists: to archive them before they disappear. What it records is a mixed, or better, "bastard" scene, caught on the wall with no gallery pieces and no commissioned walls.
