Catalogue of Artcurial’s sale of February 18, 2008 at the Hôtel Dassault, Paris, including the graffiti section Art graffiti et post-graffiti (sale no. 1469, lots 200 to 276), with Francis Briest as auctioneer and Arnaud Oliveux and Hugues Sébilleau among the specialists. It opens with eleven lots from a Dutch private collection, several bought from Yaki Kornblit’s gallery in Amsterdam, which showed the New York writers from 1983: Dondi White, Seen, Blade, Noc 167, Quik, Koor, A-One, and two Rammellzee, one of them exhibited at the Gemeentemuseum Helmond in 1986. Then come seven JonOne canvases from 1990 to 2007, the Paris writers (Shuck One, Hondo, Skki, Darco, RCF1, Babs, Bears, Slim, Seth, Lek, Sore, Keag, Yko, Tanc) and the stencil generation: Blek le Rat, Miss Tic, Nemo, Jérôme Mesnager, Jef Aérosol. Blade’s Candy Land (1983) sold for €35,937 with fees, above its estimate. A record of the moment a Paris auction house put the New York canvases of the early 1980s and the Paris scene in the same sale.
