Rotterdam at midnight becomes an unfamiliar city in Bennett Encke’s ROFFARRIVAL. Made after a climb above the streets on New Year’s Eve, this small photographic zine looks down on the lights and fireworks from a height few city dwellers will ever see. Encke sets the photographs beside a personal account of arriving in the Netherlands and finding his footing in a new home. The result is both a nocturnal portrait of Rotterdam and a record of one particular passage from 2024 into 2025.
