A photobook drawn from Bethany Eden Jacobson's archive of downtown New York, 1980 to 1986. A native New Yorker working as a photojournalist, Jacobson lived in a loft on Chambers Street and photographed the people around her: Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Wojnarowicz on the West Side piers, Iggy Pop on a rooftop facing the Twin Towers in 1986, the clubs Area and Danceteria, Patti Astor's Fun Gallery, and Futura 2000, Rammellzee, Phase 2, Lady Pink, Daze and Crash in the subway tunnels.
A few of these pictures ran at the time in Harpers & Queen, Tatler, Blitz and Cover; most were never published. A record of downtown made from inside it.
