In 2007 Clark Magazine handed an entire issue over to Tilt and let him edit and design it himself. He used it the way a writer uses a wall he's been given: filled it with unpublished work, then brought in the people he actually paints with. Os Gêmeos from São Paulo, Yone from Japan, the Californian skate artist Andy Howell, Mist, DirtLab, and the Toulouse circle he came out of — Miss Van, Tober, Der, Yank, Laguigui. A hundred pages of portfolios, photographs and stories, none of it previously printed.
The timing is what makes it worth keeping. This is graffiti in 2007, a few years before the museums arrived: a magazine hors-série sold for twenty euros at Snowbeach, OFR and The Lazy Dog, put together with support from Adidas, by an artist who now shows in galleries. Seven hundred numbered copies, issued in two different cover variants, sealed with exclusive inserts. Tilt has published a great deal since — Never Ending Story above all — but this is the one that documents him as he was: a writer from Toulouse doing his own layout.
