Dutch-Indonesian painter Danny Rumbl spent the summer of 2025 setting himself a rule: paint every Scooby-Doo villain, and paint them only where they belong — inside derelict buildings, most of them in the Netherlands. Volume 1 covers the full cast of culprits from the three seasons of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and the two seasons of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, deliberately stopping before the later series brought in real ghosts and demons. The villains here are still what they were in 1969: criminals in disguise, using fear to keep people away from whatever they're smuggling.
Shot on location rather than staged, the book reads as much as an inventory of abandoned Dutch architecture as a character catalogue — collapsed ceilings, flooded floors, blown-out warehouse glazing. Guest walls by Tee, Druid, Nozm, Sicovecas, Dilk, Seker and Stars; location scouting credited to Pieter, Micha, Ferdi and Cvetan. Follows Rumbl's earlier Hanna Barbarian and Hanna Barbarian II; a second volume is announced.
