Timelessness and universality characterize our movement after 50 years of innovation, disrupted rules, artistic conquests, rivalries, and creations across all continents—including Antarctica!
Behind the resilience of a movement long seen as ephemeral, or merely occasional and lacking artistic or cultural structure, lies the question of its durability—and especially that of its practitioners, who adapt to new techniques, digital platforms (NFTs…), a fluctuating market, contemporary social themes, and the evolving channels of communication (TikTok…). Lasting in Street Art also means aging well within Street Art.
The universality of Street Art is fueled by individual initiatives that spread and make creation accessible in all its diversity. Let us visit the Museum of Graffiti in Rio de Janeiro, where engaged and eco-responsible Street Art is promoted; the Miniature exhibition, where tiny works captivate visitors; and the new artistic liveries of the Molitor swimming pool.
On the talent side, we meet VLP, pioneers of Street Art with forty years of pictorial rebellion, and Clet Abraham, whose artistic interventions transform the everyday life of our cities. We continue our discoveries with the animal representations of Satr, whose black-and-white murals are punctuated with red, and Farid Rueda, whose work oscillates between nature and spirituality rooted in Mexican heritage. Also featured is Temponok, known for his mysterious figurative visuals.
