After the success of Herakut's first book, The Perfect Merge, this second volume takes a deeper dives into the artistic world of the German couple, Hera and Akut.
As the subtitle suggests, after the laughs, the time has come for the duo to mature artistically. The fusion of styles (raw for Hera, ultra-realistic for Akut) and the resulting works seem to come from one and the same person. Uncompromising and unaffected by fashion, their art now takes on a more sensitive facet, sometimes with a social resonance. The couple also illustrate this 2nd stage in their relationship (2009 to 2011, whereas the first volume described 2004 to 2008) with its good and bad sides. They have no desire to set themselves artistic limits, and practice disciplines as varied as frescoes and canvases, as well as photography, interior design, animation and sculpture. True to their raw, spontaneous style, the book's design is composed by hand in the style of a collage scrapbook.
