InBetween unfolds as both an exhibition and a three-color risograph zine that explores the rhythm, dynamics, and dialogue of line drawing. Artists HMX and Tiago Hesp approach the line as a living entity, fluid, responsive, and in constant motion, using it to navigate the space between collaboration and individuality.
Rooted in postmodern graffiti and contemporary abstraction, their work embraces intuition and improvisation. Through a process they call inbetweening, the artists draw toward one another in steps, allowing their lines to meet and transform, creating new shapes, forms, and insights in the middle. Their compositions evoke natural, architectural, and sonic landscapes, yet resist clear representation, instead celebrating rhythm and movement as meaning in themselves.
Experimentation lies at the heart of InBetween: folding, puzzling, erasing, and cutting become acts of discovery, revealing the unexpected and pushing both artists into new creative terrain.
Printed in three colors on Green-Top paper (240 g cover, 120 g interior), the zine translates the exhibition’s improvisational energy into a tactile, printed artifact, a record of gesture, intuition, and shared exploration.
