The second train volume in Ilja van Dalen's ongoing chronicle of Dutch graffiti, and a direct continuation of In Holland Rijdt Een Piece. The series title turns on a pun on the Dutch nursery rhyme In Holland staat een huis — and where the Staat volumes documented the piece that stands on walls, the Rijdt volumes follow the one that rides: work painted on the trains, metros and trams of the Netherlands. This instalment carries that rolling archive forward, photographed and assembled from inside the scene by one of its own.
Like the rest of the series, it is a primary source rather than a retrospective — near-textless, image-led, and made for and by writers. As a self-published continuation, it saw only a limited run, and the train-focused volumes remain the most sought-after strand of van Dalen's project. A necessary companion to the first Rijdt and to the Staat volumes for anyone building a complete set of the Dutch train-writing record.
