JonOne (born John Andrew Perello, New York City, 1963) rose from the Harlem graffiti scene in the early 1980s to become a pioneer of urban abstraction. He founded the 156 All Starz crew before relocating to Paris in 1987, where he fused graffiti’s raw energy with colorful abstract expressionism.
