Loopera is dedicated to the life and legacy of Liza (1958–2001), a key yet often overlooked figure in European electronic and hardcore music. Born in Ostend, Belgium, into a family of musicians, her path moved from classical training to tape experimentation, from rock to synthesizers, shaping a unique trajectory through New Wave, EBM, rave, and hardcore culture.
From the post–Second Summer of Love scene to the peak of European hardcore, Liza became a central force within the French and Dutch underground. Collaborating with artists such as Dano, Manu le Malin, Laurent Ho, and DJ Pure, and founding her own label Provision, she helped define a generation of sound while constantly pushing beyond established formats and genre limits.
Her death in 2001 marked the symbolic end of an era and a particular way of living electronic music. Loopera stands as a tribute to Liza’s vision, energy, and uncompromising approach, celebrating an artist whose influence continues to resonate across underground culture.
