In the fall and winter of 2023 a small number of Constructivist inspired geometric paintings began circulating on train networks in Italy and Germany. The artworks were unusual in that they were unsigned and created using a mechanical device, resulting in minimal abstract geometric compositions that would not be possible using freehand techniques. The Neu Konstrukt publication documents these interventions and includes an introductory text by Australian graffiti researcher Professor Lachlan MacDowall and a longer text by urban art researcher Richard Keville and German art historian Dr. Harald Hinz who share their thoughts on the aesthetic, sociological and art-historical aspects of train painting as it relates to Constructivist aesthetics at the beginning and end of Modernism.
