This book does not aim to retrace the 40-year history of Radio FG, from the birth of France’s first free radio stations in 1981 and “Fréquence Gaie” to the present day. Instead, it focuses on the effervescence of Radio FG during the 1990s and on its key figures: hosts, journalists, artists of all kinds… all through the candid eye of photographer Olivier Degorce, whose images bring back the festive spirit of the era—raves, clubs, and more—while the book itself captures the graphic aesthetic of the time.
Both a participant in and witness to the emergence of electronic music, Olivier Degorce was among the first to document the volcanic energy that permeated the parties of the 1990s, often unauthorized and held in secret locations, electrified by DJs who were still largely unknown and rarely placed in the spotlight.
