120 pages Edited by Patrice Poch Foreword by Raphaël Edelman 20 x 20 cm Language: French Paperback Publisher: Wasted Talent First edition of 500 hand-numbered copies 2011
Catalogue of the exhibition Poch organised on the Rennes punk rock scene — a show and a concert held in April 2011, the exhibition at galerie DMA, presenting work by Richard Dumas, Tonio Marinescu, Ian Craddock, Dany Delboy, Jo Pinto Maia, Gildas Raffenel and Poch himself. Staged with the Association Trans Musicales, with a parallel hang at the Ubu. Photographs, flyers and artefacts from the years when a provincial Breton city briefly ran ahead of Paris.
Poch is the archivist of this scene as much as its participant. Born in Saint-Malo in 1972, drawn to punk rock as a teenager, painting since 1988 and quickly committed to the stencil, he came up through Zlotykamien and the early French stencil writers — Blek le Rat, Marie Rouffet — before American-style graffiti reached France in 1982/83. The project pulled P38 back together for the concert: formed in Rennes in 1979, split in the summer of 1983, reunited for one night, with an album of unreleased 1983 material issued alongside. Trotskids, Kalashnikov, Frakture and Wart run through the book.
