Unpaginated 20,7 x 15 cm Language: English Paperback Publisher: Sneaker Freaker 2009
The eighth issue of Sneaker Freaker, the Melbourne-born independent title billed as the world's only international sneaker magazine. Founded in 2002 by Simon "Woody" Wood — first conceived, by his own admission, as a scheme to score free shoes — it grew out of the DIY punk-fanzine tradition into the definitive print voice of global sneaker culture without losing its irreverent, self-made spirit. This issue closes out the decade, carrying the magazine's blend of release coverage, brand and collector features, interviews and photography across the era's key names, from Nike and New Balance to Reebok and Converse.
More than simply a catalogue of new releases, this issue brings together feature articles, interviews, critical essays, collector profiles, and presentations of exclusive collaborations, offering insight into the evolution of the sneaker as an object of design, collecting, and cultural significance.
