Deep in a hidden corner of Metzeschmelz, a semi-subterranean space of some 500 m², artists Arnaud DeMeyer and Spike joined forces for a project of rare intimacy: Ligne(s). Over five intense sessions, Spike painted directly onto the walls while Arnaud sketched the architecture, textures, and shadows of the unique surroundings in his sketchbook.
Together they explored the simplest of forms: the line. The minimal gesture that links Spike’s wall pieces with Arnaud’s drawings; the single mark that reveals shape, space, and mood. Fourteen sketches, sixteen wall pieces: each work radiates precision, radical restraint, and raw atmosphere. For Spike, this may be his purest and most uncompromising project yet.
