The eleventh issue of Stylefile, one of Germany's most respected graffiti magazines, and one built entirely around a colour: red runs through the whole edition, giving it its house nickname, the "ROUGEfile." True to Stylefile's method — tightly edited, image-led, and seen from the writers' own side — it gathers trains, walls, productions and blackbook sketches from home and abroad, legal and illegal, favouring international exchange over any single local scene. The issue also quietly marks a turning point for the magazine: with one of its founders having left, the editorial notes that the layout had become almost a one-man production.
Its anchors are a cover and feature on Monsters of Art, the Europe-wide crew headquartered in Copenhagen — the red concept, the editors note, all but demanded a throw-up from them — and an interview with DREAM, the Swiss writer regarded as one of the era's freshest for both quality and output, a modest figure reached only through the good offices of DARE. Rounding it out is a guest layout by SATone of Munich, then emerging as a graphically minded writer moving fluidly between vectors and the can. A strong early number from the period just after Stylefile's first ten issues sold out.
