Water on Walls documents images painted with nothing but water on grey concrete. Each piece exists only for a few minutes: the wet surface darkens the wall, the image appears, then it dries and disappears. The only thing left is the photograph. This first issue collects those photographs, made in Oslo by the association Urban Samtidskunst.
Unlike most of what has emerged around the practice, the images here are figurative rather than letter-based. The zine was launched this summer at Tenthaus in Oslo and is planned as an annual publication. It is a natural companion to Before It Dries While It Lasts, and a small document on an ephemeral practice that doesn't have a name yet. Hydroart, aquaffiti: take your pick.
